Greetings! We are Rob and Ruth. We have lived in the Mat Su valley for the past 4 years and have been in Alaska for the past 9 years. Rob is originally from Indiana and Ruth grew up between the Midwest and Hispanic countries. We both work in health care and met when working together in the ER in Indiana. We became friends but didn’t decide to start dating until Rob made the decision to move to Alaska.

We love about any activity that takes us outside: hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, snowmachining, etc. We love to travel and experience other cultures. Ruth grew up as a missionary kid in Mexico and Bolivia, and Rob has always had a heart for travel and exploring. We take any opportunity we can to go new places and experience the culture with the locals.

Our home is usually active. We have 2 energetic black labs who love to play. We often have friends or family stopping in at the house and we are usually involved in some project. We bought a fixer-upper and are often in the middle of some kind of project as we slowly regenerate it. Ruth enjoys crafting, knitting, and gardening. Rob brews beer and likes to create new recipes and is involved with the men’s group at our local church.

We have always loved working with kids. We appreciate their energy, questions, and creativity. We adopted our first child in 2025 and love watching him grow. Our hope is to be nurturing through all of life’s challenges and provide our children with stability and opportunities to safely explore life so that are prepared for life as adults.
