Meet Liam and Tracy
Hello from Haines, Alaska! Our names are Liam and Theresa (Tracy). We are so excited to be on this adoption journey to parenthood and appreciate that you’re taking the time to learn a little more about us. Liam is from Vermont and came to Haines to be a river guide over 20 years ago. Tracy is from Montana and came to Alaska on a bicycle tour with her sister. She moved to Haines over 13 years ago. When we met at a community gathering in Haines, we were instantly drawn to each other. Tracy loved Liam’s warm, friendly demeanor and his sense of humor. Liam knew that Tracy was the person for him and someone with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life.
In 2020 we were married on a beautiful beach in Haines with Tracy’s sister performing the ceremony and small group of friends, children and dogs gathered to share the special moment. In 2022 we had a second wedding in Maine with all of Liam and Tracy’s families in attendance to celebrate our love for each other.
In 2025 we bought our house in a small neighborhood in Haines. Our cozy, inviting home is where we enjoy cooking and eating meals together. We love having friends and family over and our spacious backyard is often filled with our friend’s children and is a great space to play and run around with our favorite dogs that we frequently dog-sit. We also have a garden and greenhouse and enjoy growing our own food. Tracy works with children at a local non-profit as the Education Coordinator and loves that she gets to create meaningful, outdoor opportunities for children in Haines and Klukwan. Liam is an Environmental Specialists for the local Tribal Government and finds his work rewarding and fulfilling. Both of our jobs are flexible and our employers are cheering for us on our adoption journey and ready to work with us to shift our schedules to accommodate our new family member.
On weekends we enjoy being outside. We love running, spending time with friends and family, and share a passion for growing our own food and subsistence fishing and wild harvesting. We enjoy gillnet fishing on the fjord and in the river, picking and preserving blueberries and strawberries, and foraging for mushrooms in the fall.
Our hearts are open and ready to accept a child into our family. We are excited to build our family through adoption and to bring a child into our loving community of friends and family. Our extended families couldn’t be anymore thrilled and supportive. All of the nieces and nephews can’t wait to meet our newest family member. We look forward to raising a child in Haines and sharing our interests with them as well as building a life around the things that motivate and inspire them.
