Hello! We’re Dean and Holly. We have been married for almost 10 years, and we make our home in Homer, Alaska. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, we instantly became enamored with the Kenai Peninsula when we visited during our honeymoon. Three years later, one of the lessons that we learned from the Pandemic is that Dean’s job could easily be done remotely and we could live wherever we wanted. That summer (2020) we decided to take the plunge and move our lives from New Orleans to Homer.

We like to spend our free time outdoors and experience the local flavors of wherever we are at and whenever possible.

Dean is a partner in an accounting firm and Holly is mom to our now 1 year old adopted son, Ulysses (Yuli). Throughout this process we are reminded constantly that he couldn’t be “more ours” if we had made him ourselves. Now, as we’ve found our stride as new parents, we have chosen to keep building our family with AAS. Even though our family heart is very full already, we look forward to sharing more of our lives with both Yuli and his future little sibling(s).

When we’re not at home or soaking up the beautiful outdoors in and around Homer, one of our favorite things to do is travel— and since Dean can take his work with him, we have many opportunities to explore new places. Often, Dean will travel down to the lower 48 for business, and we like to take that opportunity to visit with friends, family, or visit a part of the country that we have not gotten to see yet.

We live with our giant breed dog, Madge, who enjoys observing moose (from a distance) and has settled quite nicely into her role as the “dinner cleanup crew” and takes great pride in supervising various baby activities. We are currently planning a vegetable and flower garden and are preparing to raise chickens for eggs come summer 2026.

We believe strongly in giving back to our community, and that tending to our own place benefits all. We cultivate a home full of love, openness, learning, humor and understanding. We hope to teach our children self-reliance, resilience, compassion and open-hearted kindness.
