Hi, we are Devin, Lauren, and Ember!

Devin grew up in Virginia with Michigan roots. His family still lives in the Midwest. Devin moved to rural Alaska in 2013 to teach, and was living in Mekoryuk when we met. Lauren grew up in Northern California, and her family lives there today. We met at Covenant Bible Camp in Unalakleet, Alaska. Devin moved to California, and we got married in 2020 after dating long distance for two years. We both wondered if God might call us back to Alaska, and when we were offered jobs in Mekoryuk in 2023, we were so grateful to move back. We love living in the village, and we are so honored to be welcome here. Devin teaches secondary English and Social Science at the school, along with coaching Native Youth Olympics. Lauren is the pastor of the local church, and has a flexible schedule that lets her stay home with Ember.

Ember joined our family through adoption in 2023. She is truly a joy and a light. Ember is curious, tender hearted, silly, and imaginative. We love her so much, and we rejoice that our community loves her, too. She is never without agutak to eat or an auntie or uncle to hug. Ember will start preschool in the fall of 2026. We love who she is and who she is becoming.

We are hoping to adopt again because we have more love to share in our family. We hope our home can be a safe and loving place for another little life to grow.
