Hello!  We are Chuck, Maggie, Mazie, and Max (the dog)!

Maggie and Chuck met in Bethel in 2015. Chuck grew up in Bethel, where he went to Ayaprun Elitnaurvik (the Yup’ik language immersion school) and graduated from high school. He was working as a guidance counselor at the high school when Maggie, who grew up in New York, moved to Bethel after graduating from nursing school. We have been adventuring around the country and the world ever since. We now call Anchorage home, where Chuck is a Director at a non-profit and Maggie works as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Mazie, our four-year old, is the center of our world and we are so excited to watch her grow into being a big sister. She’s the sweetest, silliest, quirkiest little kid who finds joy in everything- spending time with our friends, playing at the playground, learning to bike, putting on a play, or playing violin. We are having a blast watching her becoming her awesome, independent self and can’t wait to learn alongside the next child who joins our family in the same ways. She is simply pure joy and we are certain she is going to share that with her sibling in all the best ways.

Our home is warm, loving, welcoming and fun. Our door is always open- whether to our great close-knit group of friends that are nearby or our huge extended family spanning the United States. Our house is filled with music and basketball. Maggie is a classically trained piano & flute player and Mazie is an aspiring violinist. Chuck loves basketball, playing it, watching it, he has even been a basketball coach for the Special Olympics team in Anchorage. We love to go on adventures in Alaska and around the world. We like to fish, hike, bike, ski, and go camping. We also travel to new places as often as we can and Mazie has already been to four different countries and eight states!

We value community, kindness, joy, creativity, and hard work. We can’t wait to see who our children grow into and are excited for whatever journey they choose for themselves. We also believe in the importance of family and community and are committed to making sure our children knows who they are and where they come from.
