Meet Aaron and Courtney

Hello! We’re Aaron and Courtney.

We have been together for over a decade, and we make our home in Alaska. Courtney is originally from Chicago, and Aaron grew up in San Francisco. We met in graduate school at the University of Minnesota–Duluth, became best friends almost immediately, and officially started dating in April 2014. Since then, we’ve built a life rooted in curiosity, kindness, and the joy of sharing everyday experiences together.

We both hold master’s degrees in Geological Sciences and have always been drawn to the outdoors and the natural world. Living in Alaska allows us to embrace a subsistence lifestyle that feels meaningful and grounding. We spend our free time fishing, camping, exploring trails, stargazing, and finding peace in the quiet beauty around us. Courtney especially loves anything involving water — paddle boarding, swimming, or simply being near a river or lake.

At home, we share our space with our two dogs, who bring endless laughter and energy to our days. We value a home that feels warm, calm, and welcoming — a place where kindness comes first and voices are never raised in anger. Our guiding philosophy is to stay curious, open‑hearted, and patient with one another.

Adoption is a path that fills us with gratitude and hope. After years of dreaming about growing our family, we look forward to welcoming a child into our lives and hearts. We want to create a childhood filled with learning, nature, humor, compassion, and the freedom for a child to become themselves fully. Our extended family and friends are excited to embrace this journey alongside us and share in the joy of welcoming a little one.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. We are honored by your consideration and deeply grateful for the chance to open our home, our family, and our hearts to a child.

With grace and gratitude,

Courtney and Aaron
